Cal. 8x57. S# P5054. Bbl. 23 1/2". Standard VZ-24 sights with hood on front. Matching numbers on stock & receiver. Bolt has been cleaned & renumbered to match. The P-Series guns were used by both the Japanese & Chinese during WW2. The lack of import markings & condition suggest Japanese usage of this example but no visible Kanji markings. Receiver ring has 1937 date. Varied receiver markings have added white highlight. Blued finish. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted & left side sling swivels. No cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: "CETN" marked bayonet with proper scabbard & frog in very good condition. CONDITION: stock shows scattered dings, handling marks & wear. Bolt assembly shows scattered oxidation. Balance of metal retains 60% blue with overall fading to gray, some band removal dings on bbl., scattered edge wear & oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bright near excellent bore. (26-4131/MJC). CURIO. $1000-1500.
